Fellow Rotarians and friends of Club #25,

th in observance of Independence Day, we bring you this abbreviated Gimlet. Club # 25 President

last meeting at the Holiday Inn.
Remember, following our Enger Park picnic, we will meet next at the Kitchi Gammi Club!
New Home of Club # 25 - the “Kitch”
President Elizabeth Simonson aims to honor the past and chart a course for the future.
OH man, I love this club!
Gary, it is hard to believe we are here. What a fantastic year. I have big shoes to fill. I don’t know if I can match your attendance record though as you missed only one meeting.
First, I want to thank my crew for coming, My sons Tom and Tracey and my daughter-in-law, Sara Simonson, Tom’s wife. My daughter Brook is not able to make it from the Twin Cities due to the loss of a dear friend. However, those who know me know I call all of them my heroes and I would not survive without any of them. I also want to thank my friends Karen and Rob Marks who are here visiting from Florida.
As I look to the coming year, I want to make sure we celebrate our history. I feel this club is "the best of the best" and we have a long-standing tradition of being a strong and powerful club that has changed the lives of so many.
And as we know, our club that put the cog in the Rotary Wheel,
We can never forget our members who worked so hard to make us what we are today. Beginning with our first president, Ed W Russell, to H.E. Westmoreland, Howard Hagen, John Baumgarten... We cannot forget the John Hoffs, the Sandy Hoffs, the Tom McCabes, the Roni Salos and Holly Sampsons, the Phil Stroms, the Dean Caspersons, the Chana Stockes, the Barb Perrellas and the Gary Melanders. These are just a few of the many, many folks who made our club what it is today.
It is our responsibility to carry on our long-standing traditions and chart a course as we find ways to be even better!
- I want to see the room packed at Thursday lunches.
- I want to see our events bursting at capacity.
- I want to see us all involved in service projects, not just the same each time.
- I plan to have one Thursday a month dedicated to a community project. Remember making the blankets? I think Jim Schwartz had more fun than anyone!
- And I plan to bring back the Friday breakfasts – no business, just absolute complete social time.
This is our club, and it is up to us to make it what we want. Service above self!
Oh man, did I mention, I love this club?
Rotary Volunteer Opportunity - Painting at Saint Ann's
Saint Ann's Assisted Living is looking for help to spruce-up an outside wall with fresh paint! This event was rained out the first time, so it has been rescheduled.
