The Truth About the Captive Wildlife Crisis
Combining natural and spacious habitats with a life free of exhibition, TWS allows all residents to live wild at heart. Each cat has the opportunity, often for the first time in their lives, to choose a path to walk and a place to lie down. As a true sanctuary, TWS does not breed, buy, sell or exhibit animals. Committed to public education about the captive wildlife crisis, TWS seeks to create a world where animal sanctuaries are no longer needed.
Highlights from Last Week’s Meeting
By Rob Hofmann
A magical and wondrous gathering of Rotarians, their spouses, friends and special guests filled the beautiful gardens and home of hosts Betty George and husband Dale. There must have been some magic in the air when gusty winds and some very threatening storm clouds traveling from West Duluth toward Park Point suddenly veered to the south, keeping party-goers dry. With a near-miss behind us, Rotarians were able to stroll among the colorful floral parcels that were elegantly arranged and highlighted by radiant sunshine. On the water in the distance, a sharp eye might take in the view of Assistant Governor Tricia Bunten’s sailboat leisurely sailing by with family and friends aboard.
Dale George in charge of the kitchen
Rotarians were treated to a fine meal of smoked salmon, summer fruits, and hors d'oeuvre served with care by Dale George. With the setting so welcoming, Rotarians were at their best at making guests and strangers feel right at home! Mere words cannot capture an evening that will be remembered in the depths of December – so
let Jerry Thoreson’s pictures
speak a thousand words! He also shot a video which can be seen on the Club 25's Faebook page at
