Malcolm (Mack) A. Thomson, one of the charter members of Club 25, was 43 when he joined with the classification of Builders Supplies. In 1911, he operated Thomson & Stewart, a building material and concrete construction firm located at 226-228 W. Michigan St. At that time he lived at 1426 E. 3rd St.

Thomson came to Duluth in 1894, when he was 26 years old, from Kincardine, Ontario, and immediately joined the Duluth Boat Club as a charter member. He was a member of the first four-oared crew that defeated the field in the boat club races in Duluth in 1894.

In 1896, Thomson helped organize the Duluth Builders' Exchange and served as its first President. Later he organized the Thomson-Williams Co. with Lloyd Williams as junior member of the firm. Thomson continued as President of the Thomson-Williams Co., a tile and marble contracting concern, located in Room 206 of the Manhattan Building, until his retirement in 1938.

Thomson was active in the St. Louis County Horticultural Society and was well known for his gardening activities. He was a member of the Duluth Curling Club, Clan Stewart, and Glen Avon Masonic Lodge. He and his family lived at 354 Kenilworth Ave.

When Thomson died at age 76 in 1944, he was survived by 2 sons, Captain Donald M. Thomson, stationed with the U.S. Army in the Aleutian Islands, and Tracy Thomson of Fargo, N.D.
